Glamaton happy with the return of Sting
Cayman-based Jamaican dancehall artiste Glamaton is in an upbeat mood after performing at Sting in St Ann on December 26.
Clad in full black, the deejay took centre stage at 10:30 p.m. and delivered songs such as Jamaican Slang, Nuh Badmind and Good Memories.
"This was my fifth appearance on Sting and I am very pleased with the response I received from the crowd. All my previous appearances on Sting went well, but this one was very special. Based on the response I received from the crowd, I could tell that I really made a strong impact this time around," he said.
Glamaton said that despite the controversy surrounding the clash between Queenie and A'mari, and the premature ending of the stage show, he is pleased with the show's return.
"Sting is more than just a stage show, it is one of the pillars of dancehall music. For more than two decades, it has been the launching pad for many successful careers. Everyone knows that once you please the Sting crowd, you're on your way to stardom. I feel honoured that I was chosen by the promoters to perform on this historical staging of Sting," said Glamaton.
He added, "I am looking forward to the next staging. Once the promoters call me, I'll be there to deliver."
