MECCA to crown dancehall queen on Saturday

Ten wily dancers will on Saturday compete for a coveted dancehall queen crown when they compete in the Queen of the MECCA Dancehall Queen Competition.

Contestants are Kreativtina, Smilez, Tali Don, Shanti Different, DHQ Neaty, Win Keyyyyy, Grey Christen, BarbieDolly, Bad Shawty, and Chiney Gymnastic.

The event, which will be held at the D'Entrance, 78 Constant Spring Road, Kingston, will be judged by an accomplished trio consisting of Dancehall Queen Carlene, Mad Michelle and Latonya Style.

"We are glad we can kick-start the new year with the competition. The ladies have been waiting to come and showcase their talents. We will see who is the Queen for the year 2023 competition," the promoters said.

In addition to the winner's crown, the contestant who places first place will walk way with US$1,000. The second place contestant $US500.

The contestant for the competition is Kreativtina, Smilez, Tali Don, Shanti Different, DHQ Neaty, Win Keyyyyy, Grey Christen, BarbieDolly, Bad Shawty, and Chiney Gymnastic.

Gates will open at 8 p.m., and the show will commence at 9 p.m.
