Unknown Gringo ready to make Sting debut

Dancehall artiste Unknown Gringo is confident about his upcoming debut performance at Sting on Boxing Day.

"I am not nervous about the show. Mi prepared for it, the energy right, the rehearsals have been going great. Ah mi first time on Sting, and mi not nervous about it. Mi ah come fi put in the work," Unknown Gringo said.

The artiste, who hails from Montego Bay, St James, is among the rising stars booked to perform at the December-26 event, which is slated for Plantation Cove in St Ann. The show returns after a seven-year absence, and organisers have secured artistes including Jahshii, Skeng, Silk Boss, Jada Kingdom, Lanae, Jahvillani and Valiant to perform.

"This is my opportunity to stamp my class as one of the next generation of artistes that will carry the music forward," he said.

One of Unknown Gringo's latest releases is the Jada Kingdom collaboration, Shy, which soared all the way to No. 11 on the Audiomack 100 chart. He also recently released a video for his latest single, Scamma Shark which has racked up more than 107,000 views on YouTube.

"I am grateful for everyone who continues to contribute to my growth as an artiste and a producer," he said.

Unknown Gringo used to go by the name No Face Unknown, and wore a mask when he released the single, Tank Up. The deejay, who was raised in Flankers, made his Reggae Sumfest debut in 2019, and he has continued to build his fanbase with songs such as Brawling Death and Money Machine featuring Chronic Law.
