Daughter pregnant after ‘sleepover’ with her boyfriend
Dear Pastor,
I am 40 years old and I have two daughters, one is 18 years old and the other is 20. I had to go away for just a week and I left my daughters. When I came back, I heard from one of my neighbours that my daughters had men sleeping at my house. I asked my daughters if that really happened and they said that was a lie. I was so upset with my neighbour because I thought that she was spreading rumours on my girls. Now I am finding out that she was telling me the truth because my 18-year-old daughter is now pregnant and she admitted to me that it happened when I was away. Her boyfriend, who I did not know, came to the house, had sex with her, and impregnated her. I was so angry I felt like beating the baby out of her. The older one did not tell me anything because her boyfriend slept at the house, too. Now the young man is saying that he did not get her pregnant and that the child is not his. Please give me your advice.
Depressed mother
Dear depressed mother,
Forgive your 18-year-old daughter. She made a very big mistake. She is old enough to know not to have unprotected sex, but she got carried away by this young man. He is not decent enough to accept his responsibility, but a DNA test will prove that he is the biological father. Therefore, while you are disappointed in your daughter, everything is going to be all right. She will never forget that this guy who loved her didn't really love her as much as she thought because he has denied paternity. Mother, see that she continues her education. I am glad you did not yield to the temptation and beat her. Take good care.
Pastor
