KC claim Roper Cup

The annual Roper Cup showdown between fierce rivals Kingston College (KC) and St George’s College went the way of the purple side of North Street this year, with KC claiming the title at Winchester Park on Saturday.

The Roper Cup is decided by the aggregate score of the Under-40 teams and the Manning Cup teams.

St. George’s won the Under-40 match 2-0 and put themselves in the driver’s seat.

Their hopes were dashed, however, when KC roared back in the Manning Cup, winning 4-0, to complete a 4-2 aggregate victory.

However, St. George’s won the Pancho Rankine Cup, the winner of the Over-40 match, when they turned back KC 3-2.
