Welder charged with fraud

Fifty-two-year-old welder, Allan Ennis, or 'Rasta' and 'Randy' has been charged with fraudulent conversion following a 2022 incident in Reading district, St James.

Reports from the Montego Bay police are that in 2022, Ennis reportedly collected $150,000 from a woman to construct burglar bars for her house. However, he failed to deliver the items. A report was made to the police, and an investigation was launched. During the investigation, it was revealed that the man allegedly converted the funds for his personal use and ceased all communication with the woman.

On May 15, Ennis was arrested during an operation in Westmoreland and was later transferred to St James, where he was charged last Tuesday. He is scheduled to appear in the St James Parish Court on Wednesday.
