Devastated daddy - Mike heartbroken after learning he did not father Stacey’s child

For nearly a decade, Mike* wrestled with a question that haunted him: was he truly the father of Stacey's* daughter?

He spent years balancing a slim 10 per cent doubt with the overwhelming belief that he was the one who had fathered the child. The news hit him like a ton of bricks. His voice quivered as he spoke, the pain of the truth evident in every word.

"I had my doubts, but 90 per cent of me thought she was mine," Mike told THE WEEKEND STAR. "I was even telling the mother that when the results come back, I want my name on the birth paper," Mike added.

He told T HE WEEKEND STAR that he had already prepared himself emotionally for the possibility of being a father, so when he received the news, he was initially unable to fully accept the results. He even questioned the accuracy of the test, his disbelief evident. After an explanation of the process, Mike was left speechless, and when he finally found the strength to talk, he could only whisper.

In the weeks leading up to the results, Mike had spent countless hours reflecting on his past relationship with Stacey, the intimacy they shared, and the times they spent together. He had convinced himself that the test would confirm what he believed to be the truth - that he was the father. However, Stacey's reaction to the news could not have been more different. When informed of the result, she simply responded with an indifferent "OK."

For her, the matter had long been settled. While she acknowledged that Mike had played a part in supporting her daughter financially over the years, she made it clear that the man named on the birth certificate was the true father, because he was the only man she was intimate with during the period of her daughter's conception.

"The man on the birth paper is her father," Stacey said simply. However, in a previous interview, Stacey claimed that although she was living with the man, she was not intimate with him. She said she was only intimate with Mike.

Meanwhile, Mike's mother, Pauline*, had eagerly awaited the results. When the truth was revealed, the disappointment in her voice was clear, yet she told THE WEEKEND STAR that her love for Stacey's daughter remains the same.

"Mi still love her, and I'm still her grandmother, no matter what the results say," Pauline said.
