Construction worker charged with machete attack
Detectives attached to the Clarendon Police Division have laid charges of wounding with intent, burglary and malicious destruction of property on a man following an incident in his community on March 29.
Charged is 28-year-old Gary Elliot, a construction worker of Twickenham Drive, Portland Cottage. Reports from the Lionel Town police are that between 9 p.m. and 10 p.m., Elliot visited a man's home, during which an altercation ensued. Elliot was instructed to leave the house, but he refused. He reportedly threw a shovel through the front window of the house, injuring the man.
