Vybz Island buzzing

Vybz Kartel fans are still jumping aboard in droves, with organisers of the Vybz Island Experience reporting strong bookings despite keeping the lid on which new acts could be added to the star-studded line-up.
The four-day floating dancehall extravaganza has been rescheduled for October 29 to November 1, 2027, and will sail aboard the massive Wonder of the Seas, promising a nonstop mix of concerts, pool parties, beach takeovers, sound clashes and late-night after parties.
Roger McGregor, vice president of operations at Spectra Entertainment, said the response to the revised dates and pricing has been encouraging, with fresh bookings continuing to come in from Jamaica and fans across the diaspora.
“We’ve continued to see new bookings as well as strong engagement from Jamaica and the wider diaspora,” he said.
And with Vybz Kartel leading the musical charge, organisers are promising an explosive line-up featuring more than 30 entertainers and upwards of 20 parties and experiences throughout the voyage.
“The four-day experience will feature over 30 entertainers and some 20-plus parties and experiences, so in addition to headliner Vybz Kartel, confirmed performers include Jah Vinci, D’Yani, Armanii, Elephant Man, Ishawna and Rvssian, with more artistes to be announced soon.”
The experience is being staged under the theme ‘One ship. One family. One Vybz’, with organisers promising fans a four-day party packed with music, food, fun and high-energy performances across multiple stages and venues.
And for fans ready to make the trip, current prices start at US$834 per person and climb to US$3,574, depending on the package.
With more acts still under wraps, the anticipation is building for what organisers are billing as a massive celebration of Vybz Kartel, dancehall and Caribbean culture on the high seas.
