Hezron dreams of Grammy nomination
Reggae recording artiste Hezron has submitted his latest album, Man On A Mission (M.O.A.M.), to the Grammys for a nomination consideration.
Submitting it to the Best Reggae Album category, the artiste has high hopes for a favourable outcome.
"Good music speaks for itself and I hope that this project will win the Grammy. I really put my all into making an album that is a cut above the rest, so I took my time to perfect it in every way," he said.
With 17 tracks, the project comprises titles such as the heavy-hitting Save The Children, Holding On (Grandpa's Chair), Walk in Love and Light and Tik Tok I'm Coming. Like many artistes, winning a Grammy has been a lifelong dream for Hezron.
"It is really for people to start recognising the work and the talent. I'm considered one of the best singers to come from Jamaica, and a Grammy win is exactly the thing that will bring me more attention. More than that, it would also bring further awareness to the many topical issues that I write about," he said.
Since its release in August, the album has been gaining recognition globally, raking in several impressive accolades. It peaked at number one on the South Florida Reggae Charts and the Foundation Radio Network NY Charts for four weeks straight, marking the singer's first international number one.
Over the course of his career, Hezron has been making a name for himself in reggae music. Some of his most notable releases include Jamming Till A Morning, We Shall Find A Way and Two Places featuring Shaggy. His previous albums are The Life I Live(d) and Heznacion.
