Shav A releases ‘Fire Woman’
Alternative reggae-soul singer Shav A is hoping to kindle a fire with her new release, Fire Woman, which dropped on Septmber 23.
"With this track, I hope to create a positive impact on women or anyone who is getting a little weary on the battlefield, or who is not feeling motivated or strong enough to challenge the obstacles that life throws at them. This is a reminder that they are not alone, and to reassure them that with perseverance they can overcome anything," Shav A said.
The artiste has cultivated a following in Europe and the Caribbean due to her unapologetic views and advocacy for women's rights, equality and empowerment. She draws inspiration from her personal struggles and accomplishments, her mother, and other morally strong women. Shav A's manager, Lascelles Green, believes that this song could well be her breakthrough track.
"Shav A's ability to fuse different styles of musical genres into her reggae tunes to produce a unique sound, is what defines her exceptional quality as a singer and songwriter. Fire Woman is a cutting-edge hit with deep lyrical meaning. The early feedback on her social media pages and comments from fans show that this song can be a bona fide hit," he said.
Shav A, given name Shavanique Allen, is a past student of Kingston High School. She is the daughter of veteran reggae artiste Admiral Tibet and performed backup for him up to six years ago, when she launched her solo career.
She has worked with several world-famous artistes, producers, and personalities. Her other releases include Can't Get Enough, Island Girl, and a rendition of JC Lodge's Someone Loves You Honey.
