A mansion on the hills, a BMW with full leather interior, and Grammy awards are not just tangibles FiixTiings sings about in his latest single, Focus. They represent his long-term goals for pursuing a music career which he started in 2019.

Produced by Kyng Maffia Records, Focus was inspired by a low period in his life.

"Mi did a go through depression and go inna certain meds (meditation) and the words just forward from mi heart," the up-and-coming artiste told THE STAR.

"When you a rise, you have some people who a go talk a bagga things so mi a mek dem know a few years from now, a deh so unno a go see mi no matter weh unno talk. Some artistes just a do it for two likkle stage show or tours. Mi a aim fi the Grammys."

People are taking on to his musical vision board.

"Everybody weh hear the song tell mi seh it's a straight hit and mi just need the right support and strength fi push it but weh dem nuh understand is a just me and Fada God alone," he said.

The independent act had no intentions of having a full-blown music career. He admitted that his motivation to step into a studio was to merely record a song to make his ringtone.

"From a youth growing up, mi always seh mi waan have a song weh me sing fi be my ringtone, even if it's not an official song and a from deh so it start," he said.

But Dahhk Ink Entertainment saw beyond his ringtone ambition, and encouraged him to seriously pursue music. From that came his debut single All Mi Want and subsequent releases like Chop Todeh, Air Force, Extroverted and Family Dreams.

He described himself as a "multi-purpose artiste", evident in his catalogue mixing singing and deejaying styles and covering diverse topics for lovers of the fast life, women and those seeking motivation.

Given name Elvis Hardial, the 24-year-old got his moniker from his childhood tendency to help his mother fix things around the single-parent home. The Portmore, St Catherine, native always had a knack for entertainment, starting off as a "skanker" before becoming a disc jockey. He now has his own studio and label, OneFiix Entertainment, and though managing himself, gets unconditional support from his peers, including Skyscrapa.
