Man caught stealing television set
A St. Thomas man was arrested and charged with housebreaking and larceny after he was caught breaking into a house on Ocean Boulevard, South Haven in the parish last Monday.
The police said they saw Ramone Green, otherwise called ‘Shane’, exiting a house with a Sharp television set, one tablet computer and a gold plated chain. He was accosted and taken to the Yallahs Police Station where he was subsequently charged.
Green, who is to reappear in the St. Thomas Parish Court on Friday, is one of five men arrested and charged with breaking offences by the nation's cops.
In the other instances, 27-year-old Davion Hylton of Paradise, Norwood in St. James, was arrested after he allegedly broke into a shop at Codac Street and removed several items.
Three other men were taken into custody following a similar incident in Woodstock Housing Scheme in Buff Bay, Portland. They are: Tarik Murray, 26, Andre Hart, 41, and 21-year-old Kemar Stewart, otherwise called ‘ Blacks’ or ‘Rasta’, all from Woodstock Housing Scheme.
Reports are that last Wednesday, the three men were seen on surveillance video breaking into a house in the community. A report was made to the police and the men arrested and charged.
Hart is scheduled to reappear in the Portland Parish Court on Wednesday, December 11. The prosecution offered no evidence against Murray and Stewart when they appeared before the court.
