Expect darkness as JPS turns off power in some areas this evening
Sections of the island will be plunged into darkness tonight as the Jamaica Public Service (JPS) says it is unable to deliver energy to all its customers.
Customers in sections of Kingston and St. Andrew, St. Catherine. St Elizabeth, Westmoreland, St. James, St. Ann and Manchester will be without power between 6:00 p.m. and 9:30 p.m.
The JPS said it has been forced to carry out load shedding activities in these areas due to generation shortfall on the part of generating units, belonging to JPS and its independent power producers
