Two killed, four injured in Montego Bay
Two men were shot and killed and four other persons shot and injured, hours apart on Saturday night, in St James.
Those killed have been identified as 35-year-old Damion Conroy Bogle, a taxi operator of Content, Adelphi, and 28-year-old Shawn Lawrence, a merchandiser of Nesberry Drive, Providence Heights.
Four other persons, including two females who were shot while asleep in their beds, are presently still at hospital in serious conditions.
Reports by the police are that shortly after 7 p.m., Bogle, who operates a taxi from Montego Bay to Goodwill and Adelphi, pulled up in the vicinity of the Texaco Service Station along Barnett Street, and was walking towards the gas pump when he was attacked by a man armed with a handgun.
The gunman opened fire hitting Bogle multiple times. He died on the spot.
About an hour later, while the police were still processing that murder scene, gunmen again struck at the intersection of Cornaldi Avenue, McCatty Street and Hart Street, where patrons were enjoying themselves at a party. The police say shortly after 8 p.m., two armed men ambushed the patrons and opened fire hitting Lawrence, along with a 35-year-old cook and a 32-year-old businessman.
They were rushed to hospital where Lawrence was pronounced dead, and the two other victims were admitted in serious but stable condition.
In a third incident, gunmen went to a house in Bickersteth community about 1:30 a.m. yesterday, and fired upon two females while they were asleep in bed. The victims have been identified as a 37-year-old customer service representative and a 22-year-old cashier. They were treated at hospital.
