Jah Lex to tour Africa
Reggae artiste Jah Lex is in an upbeat mood as he prepares for his upcoming tour of Africa.
The St Ann-based singjay, who originally hails from Canada, is scheduled to leave the island on March 1 for a two-month tour of Africa, which includes shows in Kenya and Uganda.
"This will be my third trip to Africa, and I am very excited. The first time I went to Africa was in 2018, when I performed at the Reggae Nile Festival in Uganda. In 2019, I returned to Uganda for a series of shows in Kampala and Jinja. I also did a show in Nairobi, Kenya," said Jah Lex. "This time I will be performing on shows and festivals in Kenya and Uganda. I'm also awaiting confirmations for shows in South Africa, Burundi, Tanzania, Senegal, The Republic of Guinea, and Ethiopia."
Jah Lex is currently promoting his new single, titled Farmer Man, which was produced by him and released on his Rising Sun Records imprint on January 24.
"I'm very excited about the feedback that I've been getting about this single. It's getting a lot of support from DJs in Jamaica, Africa, the US, Canada, Europe, and in the UK. The video for Farmer Man is also doing well," he said.
Jah Lex was born in Montreal, and his love for music began from an early age. During his high-school years, he studied African and Latin percussion; he also learned to play the trumpet and the guitar.
He launched his recording career in 2014 with a song titled Jamaica on the Rising Sun label.
