Person of interest named in cop's hit-and-run case
Investigators have identified a person of interest in the hit-and-run incident involving a policeman in New Kingston on Thursday, January 23.
The person has been identified as 43-year-old Edward Rochester.
Rochester is being asked to turn himself in to the Half-Way Tree Police immediately.
A constable who was conducting traffic management duties at the intersection of Worthington Avenue and Trafalgar Road when he signalled the driver of a black Toyota Wish motor car, licence plate number PJ 6379, to stop.
The driver sped up, hit the cop, who fell to the ground, and then ran over his leg. The vehicle was found on Mountain View Avenue late Thursday.
