Boss lady does not trust me with her man

June 30, 2020

Dear Pastor,

I am writing you on a matter, and I would like your advice. I am from rural Jamaica, and I came to Kingston and was working with a man and his wife. They have one daughter, and they treated me well. The work was not very hard, but the woman of the house did not trust me around her husband.

He cannot move around very well, so I had to assist him. The first thing that I found so strange was that this woman told me the very first week I got there that I should be careful with her husband because although he walked with a stick and could hardly manage, when it comes sex, he could help himself, so I must be properly dressed when I was around him when she was not there. I told his daughter that I did not want to stay because of what her mother told me. She told me that I should not listen to her mother and that her father was very free-handed, and if he liked anyone who was working with him, he would give them money but her father would not hurt me in any way.

I spent one month with them and I left because of this woman. When I told the gentleman that I was leaving, he asked me why, and I told him I got another job, but I did not get another job, but I cannot work with a woman who does not trust me with a man who can hardly walk.

When I told my boyfriend that I was leaving the job, I had to tell him why, and he said that I should hurry and come home. He did not want me to do that job in the first place.

Dear B.E.,

Some women do not trust their men at all around other women. Some use themselves to judge others. You were there to do your job, and I believe that you did it well. Don't make what this woman told you cause you not to take another job somewhere else.

Your boyfriend does not want you to work out. If you don't have to work, it is all right to stay home, but not many people can remain at home and not work.
