Don’t trust my babyfather anymore

January 13, 2020

Dear Pastor,

This is my second time writing to you. Last year, I felt like the world was closing in on me. My child's father had another child with another woman.

But at the same time, he asked me to marry him. I really love this man and I want a life with him, but there are still a lot of issues that we have to deal with.

We argue about unnecessary things, and he is a liar. He would look directly in my face and lie. Things like these I am beginning to overlook.

But if I commit myself to him, how do I know he wouldn't still be messing around with his present babymother, although he told me that they have an understanding that they would not have any dealings with each other? He said that he would only take care of his daughter.

Dear Writer,

You cannot be sure whether this man would stay with you only and end the relationship with his other babymother. You say he is a liar. Liars do not change easily.

But nothing is beyond the grace of God. I would suggest that both of you make an appointment to meet with a family counsellor and discuss your concerns with them.

Don't be in a hurry to marry this man. But I would not discourage you from doing so, because he might indeed change and make a good husband to you.

Pray about this matter and trust the Lord.
