Argument leads to machete wound

The St Mary police have charged 36-year-old Maurice DaCosta, otherwise called 'Blunt', of Galina district, with wounding with intent following an incident in his community on Sunday.

Reports from the Oracabessa police are that at 2:15 p.m., the complainant and another man were involved in an altercation when DaCosta intervened and used a machete to inflict a chop wound on the complainant's left hand. The injured man was taken to the hospital, where he was treated and released. A report was made to the police, and an investigation launched. DaCosta was subsequently arrested and charged after a question-and-answer session in the presence of his attorney.

A court date is being finalised.
