Man who threatened ex-girlfriend in viral voicenote charged
The 46-year-old farmer heard threatening a woman in a viral telephone conversation on Tuesday, March 30 has been charged with malicious communication and preventing a person from buying or selling.
Reports are that about 8:20 p.m., the man identified as Peter Maye, called the complainant, a vendor at the Ocho Rios Market, via phone and made several threats to kill her.
The complainant became fearful for her life and as a result had to stop from going to the market.
The police got wind of the situation and carried out a swift and detailed investigation, which resulted in the woman being located and Maye being arrested on Saturday, April 2.
He was subsequently charged on Wednesday, April 7.
His court date is being finalised.
