Man charged with murder of Clarendon woman
The man accused of chopping 61-year-old Sharon Cole to death in Crooked River, Clarendon on Monday, February 15, has been charged with murder.
He is 55-year-old Dwayne Richards, farmer of Crooked River in the parish.
Police reports are that about 5:10 p.m., Richards went to a grocery shop where he saw the complainant and asked her to buy a drink which she obliged.
He told her thanks and she refused to answer him, he grabbed her and pulled her outside the shop where he had machete by the door and proceeded to chop her all over her body severing her left hand in the process.
He was subsequently arrested at the home of a relative in Kingston.
His court date is being finalised.
