76 new COVID cases but 116 more Jamaicans recover from virus

A 90-year-old male from St. James is the latest Jamaican to die from COVID-19, increasing the death tally to 260.

Another death was also recorded as under investigation on Thursday, moving the total deaths being investigated to 31. 

Meanwhile, there were 76 new cases with ages ranging from 1 to 99 years, increasing the total to 10,987 with 3,846 being active.

Of the new cases, 41 are males and 35 are females.

In the meantime, there were 116 more recoveries, increasing the total to 6,730.

Some 76 persons are in hospital with 13 being moderately ill and 10 critically ill.

According to the Health Ministry 16 persons are in in government quarantine, while 25,706 are quarantined at home.
