The long wait for a patty

Well! Well! Well! What can I say?! I really have nothing to say because I don't discuss politics, but congratulations to Andrew Holness. Make sure you last more than a term! Sista P, you have fought a good fight and you kept the faith, but you have to step aside now. The Laborites have taken over! Remember, you are not a loser. You just weren't a winner this time. Hush yah! *Walking away now.... Quickly* lol!!

What a gwaan peeps?! What a way some a unuh glad bag buss Thursday night! Some a unuh still a bawl! Nuff a unuh still hungry and some a unuh don't care either way, like miself yah! Anyway, life goes on. While unuh did busy a campaign, I was busy trying to get food in my tummy (as usual)! Hmm say what you want, food is the staff of (my) life!

I could hear my stomach grumbling as I stood in a crowded patty place in St Andrew last week. It was filled with all sorts of people. Some were sitting while they ate, some were standing in line waiting to place their order, but most were standing in the pick-up area! This was not one of those days when I look at the crowd and say, "oh no". I was too hungry. I was gonna wait.

Luckily, as I walked in, one lady was trying to get back in the line to get a refund. I jumped at the chance of getting the ticket. I just had to dig hard to find the $140 change to give her, but did eventually. She was happy! She said, "Mi cya do dis yah; better mi go home!"

REFUNDS

One customer, looking like a university student, was also asking for a refund. She was saying how frustrated she was and just needed her money back because she had been standing there for almost half hour. She was near tears, and I understood completely. I almost cried too! (Not because I felt sorry for her, but I was famished.) Did she really say half hour?! Father God, come down now! Take the hunger and give me some patties! Even one!

I counted. Over 30 people were waiting to be served. I had 172 and they were just calling 139. My worms would eat me alive. My jaws were getting tight, my lips were trembling, even my nose started flaring a little. I was hungry. I was getting mad, but arguing wouldn't help. I just found it ridiculous that this was an exclusive patty shop and they were out of patties. It's the most thing you sell and at this time of the evening, you should know your market by now. This was slackness. Everyone looked disgruntled, but no one really argued. They just waited. When their numbers were finally called, they took their food, some hissed their teeth, others were relieved.

"Why a one line? Dem just know how fi sick people tumuck!" one woman said as she walked in. I smiled! I was just too hungry to laugh!

Word of advice: When evening come and you feel like eating something, just go home so that real hungry people can get serve quick. Unuh fi cook man, cho! *cover face* I cook. I just don't do it for myself lol!

Dem need fi do better. Dem a get pon people nerves. Dem need fi shake up dem folly grounds. Maybe another time another set of people won't be so quiet when dem hungry! Walk good!
