The threat of a severe weather system looming across the island was no deterrent for partygoers who put on their dancing shoes, grabbed their coolers and crew and made their way out to the Kingston Waterfront for the first staging of Soca+, held across Friday and Saturday night.

The vibes and turnout proved undoubtedly that whether rain or shine, people love soca.

Soca+ is the latest series in the expansion of the I Love Soca brand. Patrons were treated to two nights of spectacular soca selections plus music from several genres and decades of dancehall, reggae, hip hop, R&B and more.

Light showers on Saturday, Night 2, were the only sight of less than perfect weather, providing festival lovers with the perfect atmosphere to release their inhibitions and have a good time.

Soca artistes Voice, who took the stage on Friday night, and Skinny Fabulous, on Saturday, helped organisers deliver on the promise of an awesome show.

Dancehall fans also got their money's worth with a show from Bounty Killer and newcomers such a LaaLee, Bryson, Topmann and Bayka.

Here are the highlights.
