Hezron thrills fans at album launch
International reggae singer Hezron celebrated the release of his latest album M.O.A.M (Man On A Mission) recently with an intimate album launch at the stage at Sky Beach Negril.
Before taking the stage to commence an energetic two-hour set, the artiste shared that the mission of the album is to put reggae back on the forefront.
"We've noticed that the authentic reggae music has been stifled out there in the world so I came together with some great musicians and we decided that we're going to bring back this vibe and make sure that it competes with what's going on," the artiste explained. He also highlighted one of the deeper and more serious songs on the album, Save The Children.
"It's a topic that is sometimes overlooked. If one should take the time to see what's going on in the world, what the new generation is coming into, we realise that we have to start stepping in from now. Because they're not getting the guidance we had, they are now exposed to so many questionable things and they have lost their way in many ways. So we have to put firmness down to protect and save them," he said.
Backed by the Hard Shield One Drop Band, the artiste treated an enthusiastic crowd of local and international fans to a few of his own classics such as So In Love and Can't Come Between. He also grabbed his signature guitar to give soulful renditions of Jah Is By My Side by Tony Rebel and A Change Is Gonna Come by the late Sam Cooke, as well as his own hit single Can't Tek Di Pressure.
With 17 tracks, the artiste gave the audience a taste of the new album, singing the title track, as well as others like Holding On (Grandpa's Chair), Tik Tok I'm Coming and Resilience.
Adding to his already diverse catalogue of music, M.O.A.M (Man On A Mission) follows several productions such as Hezron's 2014 album The Life I Live as well as several single releases in recent years such as The Air I Breathe and Stronger In Love.
