Glacia Robinson jumps on ‘Strictly Blessed’ compilation
Gospel artiste Glacia Robinson's busy schedule almost prevented her from contributing to the Strictly Blessed Volume 3 compilation, but after listening to the music for the album, she was hooked.
The gospel reggae compilation series is one of producer Delroy Lingo's latest projects. Lingo had reached out to Robinson to gauge her interest but they both knew there were no guarantees. Then one day, Robinson decided to listen to the music in the middle of a recording session and she knew she had to add her voice.
"The music was engaging, explosive and inviting! I absolutely loved it!" she said. "So, as I began to listen to the progression, I immediately started to hear complementing melody and lyrics. Initially I tried to tune it out but somehow I could not tune it out. Within a matter of minutes the Lord gave me an entire song."
Robinson ended up with three songs on the all-female version of the compilation which features other singers like Judith Gayle, DaFlame and Sista Sasha. The singles are titled Praise You, Hallelujah and Mercy. The male version has 12 artistes which include Little Kirk, Rian Davis, Turbulence, George Nooks and Septimus.
"The message of each song is distinctively original and unique. I humbly offer each of them in the spirit with which they were given - pure, emotive and life-changing. Gifts are meant to be shared and I believe that God, in His mercy and wisdom, deposited each of these songs because the message in each of them is timely yet timeless," Robinson said of her contribution.
