Jah Izrel gets career boost from Tad's album
Up-and-coming reggae artiste Jah Izrel says he has seen a boost in his career since the release of Tad's Records latest installation of the 'Ultimate' dancehall album series.
The album, which is being marketed mostly for the overseas audience, has been doing well and has been opening some doors for the new artistes like Izrel.
Izrel has two tracks on the 10-track compilation, which also features the likes of some of dancehall's biggest acts, including Sean Paul, Vybz Kartel, Mavado, Alkaline, Dovey Magnum, Macka Diamond and Charly Black.
Speaking with THE STAR about the opportunities that have come his way since the album's release, a humble Izrel said he has been receiving calls from several persons in the music industry locally and internationally who want to work with him based on what they heard on the album.
He said he has always wanted to be included on an album that would bring him some much-needed attention, and said he is grateful for the opportunities that will now come his way.
"People a seek me out now fi go pan the radio. Me a get some links from some producers now you see it, and disc jocks a link me fi dub yah now and jingles and ting. A Tad's dis innu so we expect people to pay attention," he said. "Me being on the Tad's album definitely a create some waves. It's a blessing because we growing up hearing bout Tad's and dem man deh compilation and me always a look forward fi deh pan it one year and thing, and fi see my name and my song pan it now is a joy man."
The entertainer is currently promoting the two tracks on the album Rasta Lifestyle and Better Than That.
He also working on a single called Touch The Road to be released next week and an EP he hopes to release next year.
